Dear Reader,
There’s always such a rush of activity this time of year. I’m trying to catch up on all the things I didn’t accomplish this fall—or is it this year? My Christmas project is nearly complete, fortunately. I don’t do much ambitious cooking these days. Putting dinner on the table most nights is quite enough to maintain my facility. I used to do a lot of baking, but now that my office is a cart in front of the oven, I prefer to do things I can prepare on top of the stove—and still keep writing!
This year’s project is a Mango Ginger Chutney, and it’s wonderfully flavorful, if I do say so myself. Walter approves. That’s always a plus. When the last of the jars are sealed in a boiling water bath and all the labels are affixed, I’ll feel the same sense of satisfaction as when I complete a manuscript. Speaking of which, LOVE OBSESSED is back from my editor. Thank you Richard Kutner! And the cover is nearly complete. Thank you Tim Barber! And here’s a preview, below. You saw it here first, folks!
In this swirl of holiday events, I’m going to the opera tonight. And again on New Year’s Eve. Check out the Gala at the Met Opera, if that interests you. We’re delighted to be going (even though we’ll be sitting up in nose-bleed territory, as always. That’s where the acoustics are best, after all). Also this season, I had a delightful visit with Steve Rodriquez for the TAGS Podcast. It aired December 10. You can reach it from this link, or just go to talkaboutgaysex.com/blog. It’s Episode 133. I had a great time. Do check it out.
I hope you feel as blessed as I do to have survived most of 2019. And, of course, there’s 2020 looming. Warmest wishes!
Bruce
