Dear Reader,
Can it be possible that the season is here? Surely I haven’t finished complaining about the summer heat, and Thanksgiving is two days away. And that means a book release, of course! The ebook version of OPERA OBSESSED is still available for preorder with a December 1 release date. That’s on Sunday! And the paperback and hardcover are both very much live. So if you haven’t done it yet, then do check out all the usual suspects: Amazon, Kobo, Barnes & Noble, and Apple Books.
Don’t forget the free download links I offered last time, for the three volumes of the Love Trilogy. Here they are again:
YOU’RE SURE TO FALL IN LOVE https://dl.bookfunnel.com/x96ysfa84e
LOVE AND THE EPIDEMIC https://dl.bookfunnel.com/wltzwls37c
AND LOVE ENDURES https://dl.bookfunnel.com/pnonbgsk9t
These links are only valid through Sunday, but if you miss them, just email me and I’ll send you a live link you can use any time.
Walter and I took a Sunday afternoon walk through Central Park two weeks ago. It was a picture-perfect fall day, and my main reason for suggesting the outing was so I could see Bethesda Fountain. I’ve known about it for ages, of course, but I somehow missed seeing it, even though I’ve lived in New York City since 1975. The Fountain—and Central Park—figure prominently in my new novel, LOVE OBSESSED. It was time to pay a visit. And I had hoped to photograph the Fountain in all its autumnal glory.
Everything was perfect, except the water was missing! I have no idea why. So the photo below is not mine! (It’s by Kridsada Kamsombat, by the way). We enjoyed the Fountain and then walked on, around the lake, to The Boathouse, where we had a glass of wine at the bar. We headed west and managed to pass the Belvedere Castle, which I had also never seen! A leisurely stroll through The Ramble made us feel nostalgic, indeed, considering that The Ramble figures almost as prominently in Gay history as The Stonewall Inn.
It was a lovely afternoon, and it reminded me of many of the reasons I love living in New York. So you know I’m feeling quite thankful as I get my heart ready for Turkey Day. Don’t forget to join the Audacity Brigade! Advance readers are exactly what I need to keep me honest. And know that I am always grateful for your company on the journey.
Yours,
Bruce
