Dear Reader,
What a summer! Nothing happened as planned, and yet I find myself mourning its end, even though autumn is my favorite season. My Pandemic Report is very like others: We had to cancel our Memorial Day trip to Provincetown, MA, our favorite place not in New York City. We mostly stayed home around the Fourth of July, and we’ve been grounded from our planned trip to London for the Labor Day weekend.
Fortunately, Walter and I enjoy spending time together, and I like to cook. We’ve built a life we don’t need to escape. So our new normal is more than tolerable. Still, a change of scenery is nice now and then. We get out occasionally for an al fresco dinner. I’m always Googling things to make sure I’ve spelled and used them properly. This time I learned that the term al fresco is not currently in use in Italy for dining. Instead, it refers to a stay in jail! Hmmm.
The characters in my new novel, SUCH A GOOD MAN, are facing trials of the heart as much as assaults from the outside world. The ebook went live for preorder on Amazon this week and other platforms soon. I’m excited about the new cover. Thank you Tim Barber (tim@dissectdesigns.com) for another masterpiece. And congrats on your other recent, even more spectacular creation, a beautiful baby girl! New life in the middle of the Pandemic warms my heart.
SUCH A GOOD MAN is set in contemporary (but pre-Pandemic) New York City. The characters struggle with their own individual lives as they also face religious intolerance, systemic racism, and scars from the past. I hope you’ll love them as much as I do. Do read the blurb on Amazon. Email me, and I’ll send you a link to the first chapter. That way, you’ll get to read it before anyone else!
Stay safe!
Bruce
